Early start this morning to make our way to Teplice nad Metuji. We had to be at the meeting point by 7am to get the tram to the train station for the first of three trains. We were on the first train was about 2.5 hours the second train for about 50mins and the last one for only about 10mins. The trains got smaller and smaller as we wound our way up the maintains. The last train was only a single carriage.
We arrived at our pension and we got a recently renovated room that had its own ensuite. After we checked in we had some lunch. As it was my last day in the Czech Republic I figured I had better do the local thing and have some sweet dumplings (mine were with berries). After lunch we hiked up the mountains (only 6.5km return) to view the interesting rock formations and unique landscape of the region. We climbed up one of the rocks via a series of steep stairs and ladders.
We continued along the walk where it takes you right up and in between some of the rocks where it was quite damp with thick moss growing on the rocks and the cool air trapped.
After the walk I hit the pub up for some beers before dinner. We had bbq meats and veges for dinner. I had the pork which was great followed by pancakes with apple and whipped cream.
