We took the train out to Bratislava from Vienna and got the bus into the old town centre where we went on a short walking tour of the old town and castle. Our guide gave us a brief history of Bratislava and its importance in history from Roman times to present day. We then headed to the main street were we had lunch at a Slovak Pub for some traditional Slovak food. I had the potato dumplings in a sheep cheese sauce with bacon (you know just a light lunch).
We had the option to stay in Bratislava and head back to Vienna at anytime. I choose to head back early with the guide. We arrived back at the hotel around 4pm. I just relaxed in the hotel room for a couple of hours before heading out to dinner.
Dinner was at this buffet eatery/pub on the outskirts of Vienna. There was a buffet which I just ordered my food by pointing at everything I wanted. I had some roasted pork belly with crackling and some oven roasted ham. By the way they weighted the meat to sort out how much it cost. You ordered drinks at the table, wine by the litre seemed to be the go.
That was our last night in Vienna, before heading to Cesky Krumlov the following day via private mini bus.
