We got up the following morning and made our way to Cesky Krumlov via mini bus, about 3 hour drive. We arrived at the hotel right near the centre of the old town (see photo of the room). The old town is still pretty much as it was in medieval times.
We had lunch at the hotel restaurant before going rafting down the river. We floated and casually paddled out way down the river stopping a couple of times for beer and drinks and to take in the beautiful views of the forest and river. Once we reached the end point they pick you up and drop you back into town. After rafting we did an evening walking tour around the old town with a local tour guide who told us a bit about the history of the town. The tour finished at the restaurant where we had dinner and we ordered a chicken feast platter which was delicious and I had some South Bohemian Mead and Czech Cake for desert (like a plum flan with sweet cottage cheese crumbled on top).
Dinner was so much fun with the Canadians and Kiwis, we laughed all night and were probably the loudest table. We stopped off at a pub on the way home 20m from our hotel for a night cap which was a traditional Czech spirit (forgotten the name of it) that smelt and tasted like Christmas.
It was a very relaxing day with he rafting and the warm sunny weather.
